HOW does the EUCF work?
The design of the EUCF allows for decentral and tailor-made support to small- and medium-sized municipalities through National Hub and Country Experts, and activities across Europe.
In preparation for the fifth call of the European City Facility (April, 2023) For each EU Member State, Ukraine and Iceland, the consortium appointed a country expert to support applicants and beneficiaries in their ‘EUCF journey’ and the core management team in the smooth EUCF operation.
Country experts were selected based on their proven technical and financial competences and national/local working experience in the field of energy and climate investments, their existing relations and contacts with cities.
To support in sharing the application rounds of the European City Facility and providing guidance on how to exploit the investment concepts, to open up for financing or funding on the national level, a group of National Hubs were also recruited in 2023.
